File uploads and storage

Attaching documents and images in chat lets you use their contents right away. Keeping and organising your files happens in a separate service, Parallax Storage (storage.parallax.kr).

Attaching files in chat

Press the file attach (paperclip) button in the input box to see two options.

• Upload from Device: pick a file on your device.
• Select from Storage: pick a file you already keep in your storage and attach it right away.

You can also drag files onto the input box or paste them in. Whichever way you attach, chat attachments can be up to 50MB per file.

Where did the storage screen go

The storage screen that used to live inside parallax.kr has moved to storage.parallax.kr. Going to parallax.kr/storage takes you there automatically, and files you uploaded before are all still there. It uses the same Parallax account, so you do not need to sign in again.

Uploading, organising folders, share links and version history all happen on storage.parallax.kr. For details, see:

Storage space and limits

Your included storage depends on your plan (Free 50MB, Pro 10GB, Ultra 100GB, Agency and Enterprise 10TB). Each file you upload to storage can be up to 10GB.

If you run out of space, try these in order.

1. Delete files you no longer use on storage.parallax.kr. Deleting is permanent straight away, so take care.
2. If that is not enough, subscribe to extra storage. It is added on top of your plan's allowance.
3. If you are short every month, a higher plan works out better.

When an attachment fails

• Check that the file is no larger than 50MB.
• An unstable network can cut an upload off partway. Try again on a wired or different connection.
• If only one file fails, it may be damaged or in an unsupported format. Save it in another format and upload again.

Are my files safe

Files in storage are stored encrypted, and only the account owner can reach them unless you create a share link. If you delete your account, your data is handled as described in Deleting your account and what happens to your data.
