How is my site address chosen?

Every site gets a free address in the form name.parallax.kr. It starts with an automatically generated name, and you can change it under Subdomain on the site Settings screen.

• Use lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens only, 3 to 63 characters long.
• Two hyphens in a row (--) are not allowed.
• Reserved addresses, such as service names and well-known brand names, and addresses already in use cannot be chosen.

Changing the name means the old address stops working, and visitors will see a 404. If you have already handed out links, try not to change it.

How do I connect a domain I own?

1. On the site Settings screen, enter an address such as www.example.com under Custom domains and press Add.
2. As shown on screen, point that address at your site with a CNAME record in your domain provider's DNS, and add the TXT record shown as well.
3. Press Re-check. Once both records are found, the SSL certificate is issued automatically and the status turns active.

DNS changes can take about 1 to 30 minutes to propagate. If it does not activate right away, check again a little later. Addresses under parallax.kr cannot be connected as custom domains, and a domain already connected to another site cannot be added.

• Draft sites that have never been published count toward the site limit.
• Custom domains and traffic are counted across your whole account, not per site.
• You can see your current usage at the top of the My sites screen and on the site Settings screen.

When are credits used?

Credits from your Parallax plan are used when you send messages to the agent to build or change a site. How many depends on the request and the amount of work, and a request that stops partway is still charged for the work done up to that point.

Choosing a template, publishing and re-publishing, and running your site on a parallax.kr address do not use credits. For credits and plans in general, see Understanding plans and credits.

What happens if I go over the traffic limit?

If visitor requests or transfer go over the limit for the current usage period, the site is paused and visitors see a page saying the site is paused. It comes back when the next period starts or when you move to a higher plan. The reset date is shown on the usage card on the My sites screen. For a busy site, a plan with more headroom is the better choice.
