Getting started with Parallax Engage

Parallax Engage is a quiz maker at engage.parallax.kr. You can build personality quizzes, 16-type style tests, trivia, brackets and surveys, then share them as links, story images and embeds. Creating quizzes, publishing them and collecting responses are free and unlimited.

Do I need a separate account for Engage?

No. Engage uses your Parallax account, so the same account works across every Parallax service. On the Sign in page you can use your email and password, Continue with Google or Continue with Apple. If you originally signed up with Google or Apple, sign in with that same button.

People who take your quiz do not need an account.

How do I create my first quiz?

Open Dashboard and click New quiz.
Under 1. Choose a format, pick one of the five formats: Personality quiz, 16-type style test, Trivia and score, This or That bracket or Survey.
Under 2. Choose how to start, pick Start from scratch, Generate with AI or Use a template.
Click Create quiz. The editor opens.

What is in the editor?

The editor has five tabs:

Build: your questions and answer options. Axes, bracket items and the lead card are set up here too.
Design: theme, brand color, font, button style, cover image, quiz settings and gallery listing.
Results: the results players can get, or the ending screen for a survey.
Share: your quiz link, share buttons, QR code and embed code.
Analytics: starts, completions, result distribution and responses.

The Preview panel lets you play the quiz as you build it. Preview plays are marked Not recorded and never show up in your stats.

Your work saves automatically and the editor shows All changes saved. If you see Not saved, check your connection and click Retry.

Can I change the format after creating a quiz?

No. The format is fixed when the quiz is created. To use a different format, create a new quiz. Duplicate in the dashboard makes a copy with "(copy)" added to the title, but the copy keeps the same format.

How do templates work?

The Templates page has 12 ready-made quizzes across all five formats. Click Preview to look inside one, then Use template to copy it into your own quiz. Template content is in English, and you can change every word after you start.

How does the AI draft work?

Choose Generate with AI when you create a quiz, or click Generate with AI on the Build tab of an existing quiz.

Describe your topic under What is it about?
Set the number of questions (5 to 20) and results (2 to 16), a Tone (Playful, Friendly, Witty, Professional or Inspiring) and a Language.
Check the credit estimate shown under the form. You only pay for what is actually used.
Click Generate draft. It usually takes under a minute.
Review the draft and click Apply draft.

A few things to know:

Applying a draft replaces your current questions and results, and also updates the title, description and category.
For 16-type style tests, AI makes 4, 8 or 16 results (2 to 4 axes). For brackets, AI uses 4, 8 or 16 contenders. The number you enter is adjusted to the nearest of these.
You can run up to 2 drafts at the same time.
If a draft fails, your credits are not used. Just try again.

How do I publish?

Click Publish at the top of the editor. If something needs fixing first, the editor lists each issue and where it is, for example "Fix 2 issues before publishing". Once the quiz is live you will see "Your quiz is live." and your link appears on the Share tab.

If you turned on a feature that needs Pro or Ultra, an upgrade prompt appears. You can upgrade, or turn that feature off and publish for free.

Which languages are supported?

The Engage site is available in 13 languages. Change it, along with light or dark mode, from the Language and theme menu. The language of the quiz itself is a separate setting: Design tab, Gallery listing, Quiz language.

Open a support request, choose Engage as the service, and include your account email, the quiz title or its link, what you were trying to do and the exact message you saw. A screenshot helps a lot.
