Connecting a wallet and swapping tokens on Dex
Supported chains, connecting a wallet, the swap steps and the approve step.

Dex is an aggregator that compares prices across many exchanges at once and swaps your tokens along the best route. You can use it at dex.parallax.kr.
No account needed
Dex works by connecting a wallet, so there is no Parallax account sign in. Your assets stay in your own wallet at all times and we never hold them. Every trade is signed from your wallet.
Supported chains
Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, BNB Chain and Avalanche. Switch your wallet's network to one of these before you start.
The swap steps
- Connect your wallet from the top right.
- Choose the token to sell and the token to buy, and enter an amount.
- Check the expected amount received, the price impact and the route.
- For a token you are trading for the first time, sign an approve transaction first.
- Sign the swap transaction and it is broadcast.
Once broadcast, you can follow progress through the block explorer link.
Why approve is needed
To swap a token you first have to allow the contract to use it. That means an extra approve transaction the first time for each token, and it costs gas too. Swapping the same token again skips the approve step.
Slippage
The default slippage tolerance is 1%. It sets how much less than expected you are willing to receive if the price moves while your trade is being broadcast.
- Thinly traded tokens may need a higher value to go through, at a greater risk of filling at an unfavourable price.
- For major tokens with plenty of liquidity the default is enough.
Costs
A swap costs network gas, and the fees of the exchanges on the route are reflected in it. The final expected amount already accounts for these, so check it before you sign.
