Writing posts and uploading images and videos

Once you have a blog, you can write from Write at the top right or from Write on your blog page.

What format do I write in?

Posts are written in Markdown. The toolbar buttons for bold, italic, subheading, quote, list, code and link insert the Markdown for you. Use the Preview tab to see how the post will look once published.

• Titles can be up to 200 characters.
• If you choose a topic, the post can appear in the topic recommendations on the home page. You can publish without choosing one.

What is the difference between saving a draft and publishing?

• Save draft: only you can see it. You can pick it up again from the "Drafts" list on your blog page. A draft still needs a title.
• Publish: the post becomes public for everyone. The body cannot be empty when you publish.

The writing screen does not save automatically. Your browser asks once if you try to leave without saving, but during a long session please save your draft often.

Can I edit or take down a published post?

Yes. Open the post and click Edit, which only the author can see.

• Publish changes: makes your edits public right away.
• Unpublish: turns the post back into a draft so nobody else can see it. If you publish it again, the original publish date is kept.

How do I upload images and videos?

Drag files onto the upload box on the writing screen, or click it to choose files. You can also paste or drop files straight into the body. You can upload several files at once, and each one is inserted at the cursor.

Uploaded images and videos are stored as public files that anyone can see along with your post. Please do not upload anything you do not want to be public. Files uploaded here do not count toward your Storage (storage.parallax.kr) quota.

How is the thumbnail image in lists chosen?

When the body contains images, a Cover image picker appears at the bottom of the writing screen. If you do not pick one, the first image in the body is used in post lists and share cards.

Can I create images with AI?

Yes. Click Create an image with AI on the writing screen.

1. Describe the image you want in 3 to 1,000 characters.
2. Choose an aspect ratio: Landscape, Square or Portrait.
3. Click Create and one image is generated and inserted at the cursor in your post.

• The credits needed per image are shown on the Create button. Afterwards, the credits used and your remaining credits are shown.
• It can take about a minute. You can keep writing in the meantime, but you can only save once the image is finished.
• If the image could not be created or saved, no credits are deducted.
• You can create up to 3 AI images per minute.
• Images you create are public along with your post, just like uploads.

What happens when I delete a post?

Click Delete on the post, which only the author can see. The post's hearts and comments are deleted with it and this cannot be undone. If you only want to take a post down for a while, use Unpublish instead.

Open a support request, choose Blog as the service, and include your blog address, the post link (or the title, for a draft), what you were trying to do and any error message you saw. For upload problems, please also tell us the file format and size. For questions about credits for AI images, include the date and time you created the image.
