Creating a presentation and credits

Clicking New presentation takes you through three steps: Collect, Structure and Style. You can also type a topic into the box on the My presentations screen and click Start to land on the same screen.

What should I enter?

• What is it for?: choose from Marketing presentation, Strategy presentation, Project presentation, Sales proposal, Report and analysis, Pitch deck, Lecture and training, or General presentation. The storyline follows the type you choose.
• Topic and goal (required, up to 4,000 characters): say who it is for and what decision or action you want. Concrete details such as numbers, names and dates make the result better.
• Audience (optional, up to 200 characters): for example marketing leadership, a new client, or investors.
• Sources (optional): see below.

How do I add sources? Can I upload files?

There are two ways to add sources.

• Paste text: paste a brief, notes, interview quotes, report excerpts and so on.
• Web page link: enter a link and click Read page to pull in the page text as a source. Reading a link does not use credits.

You can add up to 5 sources, up to 20,000 characters each and 60,000 characters in total. File upload is not supported, so for a document file, copy its text and paste it in.

The AI is instructed to use only facts that appear in your topic and sources. When an illustrative number is needed that is not in your sources, it says so in that slide's speaker notes. Please still check figures and facts yourself before you present.

How do I set the number of slides and the language?

You set both in the Structure step.

• Number of slides: anywhere from 5 to 20. The default is 10.
• Presentation language: Korean, English, Japanese, Chinese (Simplified), Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Thai or Hindi. Both the slides and the speaker notes are written in this language.

What is "Review an outline first"?

With it on, you get a slide by slide plan (titles and key points) before any slides are made. You can edit titles and key points, reorder them and add slides, then generate. In this case the outline decides the number of slides.

Drafting an outline also uses credits, and each Draft again is charged again. Turn it off to go straight to slides.

Which styles are there?

Six: Editorial, Modern art, Risograph, Midnight, Minimal and Sunset. Each one is a complete system of fonts, colors and layouts, so switching the style changes the look of every slide. You can switch again at any time in the editor.

Can I start without AI?

Yes. Click Start blank instead in the Style step, or Blank presentation on the My presentations screen, and a presentation with a single cover slide is created right away. It does not use credits.

How long does it take?

Usually under a minute. You can leave the page while it works; generation keeps going and the deck shows as Generating… in your list. The editor opens when it is done.

You can have up to 3 presentations generating at the same time. If you already have 3 in progress, wait for one to finish and try again.

How are credits charged?

• The credits shown before you run (≈) are a typical estimate for a 10 slide deck.
• The actual charge is based on how much the AI reads and writes. Longer topics and sources and more slides cost more.
• When a task starts, the maximum it could need is set aside for a moment, and when it finishes only the actual usage is charged. You are never charged more than that maximum.
• Failed generations are not charged. If you delete a presentation while it is still generating, that generation is not charged either.

It says I do not have enough credits

The "Not enough credits" message appears when your balance is below the maximum the task could need. That is why it can show up even when your balance is a little above the estimate on screen. Try the following.

• Lower the maximum by choosing fewer slides or using less source text.
• Click the credit display at the top to top up or change your plan on the parallax.kr plan page.

If you see "We could not check your credits right now", it is a temporary problem. Please try again shortly.

Generation failed or is stuck on generating

• If a deck shows Generation failed, open it and click Retry. It runs the same request again, and the retry is also only charged if it succeeds.
• If it keeps failing, start a new presentation with a shorter topic or less source text.
• If a deck stays on Generating… for more than 10 minutes, it is treated as interrupted and automatically switches to failed. You can then retry it, and the interrupted generation is not charged.
• If you see "Too many requests", too many requests came in at once. Please try again shortly.

It says the web page could not be read

Check that the link is correct. If the page still cannot be read, copy the text from your browser and add it with Paste text instead.

Can I get a refund if I do not like the result?

AI output can differ each time even for the same input, so a result that falls short of expectations is not by itself grounds for a refund. Instead of regenerating the whole deck, you can save credits by asking the AI to rework just the slides you want in the editor. For refund rules, see Refunds.

If you need help

Open a support request, choose Slides as the service, and include the presentation address (in the form slides.parallax.kr/decks/...), when you started the generation, any error message shown on screen and, for credit issues, your remaining credits before and after the request.
